Hundred of the Best

'Hundred of the Best' is another interesting publication by football historian Carmel Baldacchino which will be launched during this week's Book Fair at the Trade Fair Grounds, Naxxar.

In his latest book, printed at Progress Press, Baldacchino profiles his top 100 Maltese football players, going back to as early as the pre-World War One era up to last year.

The author, who published other works on Maltese football including his expansive series 'Goals, Cup and Tears', relied mostly on his own records to gather information and statistics on the players featured in 'Hundred of the Best'.

The task to select the best 100 players of all time was not easy, a fact acknowledged by Mr Baldacchino himself when pointing out in the book's introduction that 'a list of 200 would probably have been fairer'.

The book contains 480 pages. On Friday, between 7 and 8 p.m., Mr Baldacchino will visit the Progress Press stand at the Book Fair to sign copies of 'Hundred of the Best'.
