Well known folklorist and naturalist Guido Lanfranco will discuss his findings on Maltese religious devotions, both past and present, in a lecture called "Taking a look at some local devotions".

The lecture will be held at Din l-Art Helwa's premises at 133, Melita Street, Valletta, on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Mr Lanfranco will be sharing his knowledge on cults and devotions practised throughout the islands' history.

Of particular interest will be his description of the most popular vows, blessings, indulgences, prayers, as well as the materials used to carry out local devotions, such as scapulars, rosaries, votive offerings in silver and other precious metals.

Entrance is free but donations towards DLH restoration projects will be most appreciated.
