Fr Serafin Borg, who hails from Xewkija, is well known for his great interest in the history of the Augustinian order. As an Augustinian friar he had contributed many books on his order.
In 1969 Fr Borg had translated into Maltese a history of the order of St Augustine that was written in Italian by the Spanish historian Fr Balbino Rano. He also translated from Italian several biographies of well known Augustinian saints like Fr Martin Cullen and St Nicholas of Tolentino.
Fr Borg is the author of essays on Gozitan Augustinians, first published in the periodical St Rita and then in book form. In 1974 he was the editor of a publication to honour the Augustinian Giovanni Maria Camilleri who was Bishop of Gozo for 35 years, and in 1985 wrote a book Il-Madonna' fil-hidma ta' l-Agostinjani Ghawdxin.
In 1996 and 1997 he published two books - one on St Rita of Cascia and the other on St Monica, mother of St Augustine. He also published a book entitled L-Agostinjani fi zmien il-hakma Franciza fil-gzejjer taghna.
