HSBC's Lascaris Wharf and Merchants Street branches in Valletta won the bank's latest Branch Customer Service Awards.
Valletta won the Area Award and HSBC's Compliance Unit won the Department Customer Service Award. The branch and area awards, which differentiate between branches in densely populated towns or commercial areas and those in smaller villages, were based on feedback from customers.
The best department award was based on feedback from HSBC employees who nominated the departments, which they believed to offer best assistance and service.
HSBC Bank Malta chief executive officer Shaun Wallis said: "Everyone working in HSBC's Valletta branches should feel proud of the very high levels of customer service that they provide. The overall results of our Customer Satisfaction surveys have been very positive and the Valletta branches have faced very stiff competition from all other HSBC branches.
"As the world's local bank, customer service is an important priority and the response we are receiving from customers clearly shows that we are succeeding in providing our Maltese customers with the service they have a right to expect.
"A special word of congratulations goes to HSBC's Compliance Department on winning the Department Customer Service Award for the first time," he added.
Mr Wallis, and HSBC head of Personal Financial Services John Hackett, presented the branch awards to HSBC Valletta Lascaris Wharf branch manager Mira Vandeputte, HSBC Valletta Merchants Street branch manager Edwin M. Zammit and HSBC Valletta Area manager Alex Mizzi.
HSBC chief operating officer Martin Wilkins presented the departmental award to HSBC Compliance Unit senior manager John Sammut. Employees of the winning departments are given the opportunity to use the award to organise any social event they choose.
