No to city 'desert'

The Malta Chamber for Small and Medium Enterprise - GRTU disagrees with the proposal to build a new Parliament on the site of the former Opera House in Valletta.

"A Parliament in this part of the city would create a desert in a part of the city which needed some activity," the GRTU said.

The GRTU said that a lot of money has already been spent on plans for the city entrance and, therefore, efforts should be made so that, through entrepreneurs and private contractors, a practical project would be drawn up that would give the entrance to the city the atmosphere it needed.
