The mother of the six year old girl who was rescued by the police after being locked out in the balcony of the mother's home in Mosta has been arrested by the police after she failed to report to the police station on a daily basis as part of the conditions for her release on bail.

Inspector Joseph Spiteri told presiding Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera that the woman, whose name cannot be published by court order, was not attending the Birkirkara police station on a daily basis.

This led to the woman's re-arrest last Sunday morning. The woman was charged last May with the abandonment of her six year old daughter and with seriously neglecting her.
