Marriages

Dr IAN GAUCI, MD and Miss ROBERTA BORG The marriage took place on Friday, October 15, at the Capuchins church of the Holy Cross, Floriana, between IAN, son of Mr and Mrs Henry Gauci of San Gwann, and ROBERTA, daughter of Mr and Mrs Michael Borg of Sliema. Fr David Cefai, assisted by Fr Anthony Gauci, the groom's uncle, and Fr Claude Portelli, celebrated nuptial Mass. Mr Julian Consiglio and Ms Carmen Mangion witnessed the ceremony. The bride was attended by Mrs Tania Tabone, while Ms Kyra Borg, the bride's niece, and Ms Francesca Pace were flower-girls. The duties of best man were shared by the groom's brothers, Dr Joseph Gauci and Mr Christopher Gauci. Mr Marco Borg, the bride's brother, Mr Dirk Spiteri Lucas, Mr Mark Axiak and Mr Mark Caruana acted as ushers. A reception was later held at Villa Arrigo, San Pawl tat-Targa.

Mr MARTIN SINNING and Miss RUTH GRIMA The marriage took place on Saturday, October 2, at St Gregory's chapel, Zejtun, between MARTIN, son of Mr Hans Sinning and Dr Sighild Sinning of Germany, and RUTH, daughter of Ing. Carmel Grima and Mrs Rosanne Grima of Sta Lucija. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Fr Charles Cordina assisted by Pastor Hans Ludwig Heller. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr Martin Viohl and Mrs Katia Vassallo Cesareo. Mr Alain Grima, the bride's brother, carried out the duties of best man. The bride was attended by her cousins Ms Christina Scerri and Ms Gabriella Galea, together with Xikira Van der Laan as flower-girl. Ms Rachel Galea, Mr Mark Dalli, Mr Christoph Wortig, Mr Uwe Ditz and Mr Eberhard Doerr acted as ushers. The ceremony was also attended by many relatives and friends from various countries. A reception was later held at Villa Maria, limits of Zurrieq.

Mr ANTHONY TABONE and Miss PATRICIA MICALLEF EYNAUD The marriage took place on Sunday, October 17, between ANTHONY, son of Mr and Mrs Philip A. Tabone, and PATRICIA, daughter of Mr and Mrs James Micallef Eynaud. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Fr Alfred Sacco at the Metropolitan Cathedral, Mdina. The ceremony was witnessed by Mrs Anne-Marie Darmanin and Mr David G. Davies. Mr Francis Galea Salamone and Mr Darryn Portelli acted as best men. Mr Michael Zammit, Mr John Xerri de Caro, Mr Paul Darmanin, Mr Peter Bonnici, Mr Roberto Calleja, Master James Spiteri Staines and Master Michael Spiteri Staines acted as ushers. The bride was attended by Miss Philippa Farrugia Randon and Miss Ann Tabone. Miss Julia Darmanin was flower-girl. A reception was later held at Palazzo Parisio, Naxxar.

Sceberras Trigona. On October 23, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, Antoine, aged 86, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sisters Doris, wife of Joseph Attard Montalto, and Mary, widow of Rosario Ferro Montalto, his sister-in-law Connie, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Capua Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for St Gregory's parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.45 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

SPITERI. On Monday, October 18, at St Luke's Hospital, MARLENE, aged 62, passed peacefully away to meet the Risen Lord after a long illness, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers Neville, Austin, John and his wife Audrey, her niece and nephew, Sally Ann and Daniel John, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. Special thanks to all those who attended the funeral and showed their sympathy at the service held at St Gregory's parish church, Sliema, on Tuesday, October 19.

VELLA. On October 23, at St Luke's Hospital, INEZ née Miggiani, widow of Victor, residing in Sliema, aged 89, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, passed peacefully away to meet the Risen Lord. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter Maria and her brother Frank Miggiani, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 2 p.m. for St Gregory's parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
