An man was yesterday given an 18-month jail term suspended for two years after he admitted to stealing domestic appliances and tools from a room in a field.

Joseph Bongailas pleaded guilty to stealing the items from Joseph Bartolo's room in an Ghaxaq field on June 7, 2003, and relapsing.

Police Inspector Christopher Pullicino prosecuted.
