The number of cruise passengers to Malta in the first nine months of this year amounted to 203,188, down by 89,951 from the same period last year, the National Statistics Office said yesterday.

In the period under review, the highest number of cruise passengers came from the British market (46,211) followed by the Spanish (43,797) and the Italian (25,343) markets.

In September, the number of cruise passengers registered a drop of 10,919 over the same month last year, to 46,816. Cruise passengers arriving from the Italian market rose to 6,865 from 1,856.
