An authentic race bike, the Suzuki GSX-R750, is on display at the Flamingo Tool Centre in Qormi, following up on last year's successful exhibition of a Formula 1 Jordan GP car.
The superbike sport exhibit it has brought over this year took part in the 2001 championship with the team Alstare Corona Suzuki, ridden by Pier Francesco Chili who achieved a best fourth ranking with the machine, amassing 258 points.
Being a superbike championship machine, the GSX had to be modelled on a production bike. It is one of the last carburettor bikes, delivering power, up to 14,000 revs, with a water cooled engine. Fuelling comes through 41 mm Mikuni flat side carburettors in a carbonfibre airbox.
In its three-week tour in Malta, the superbike is at the Flamingo Tool Centre, opposite Cambros Silencers, in Qormi, up to next Tuesday, between October 27-31 it will be on display at the Tools Fair in Naxxar and from November 1-8 it will be at the Grand Prix Inc. in Bay Street.
