BOV sponsors Cittadella - Gozo for Arts and Culture

Bank of Valletta is sponsoring the Cittadella - Gozo for Arts and Culture festival which is being organised by the Leone Band Club till Saturday.

The sponsorship was presented by Jack Theuma, manager of BOV's Gozo branch to Mario Gatt, secretary of the Leone Band Club and the festival' co-ordinator. The Victoria Carinet quartet will be giving a recital at the Citadel today at 12.15 p.m.

Culture tours of the Citadel and Gozo Cathedral will be conducted by Rev Dr Joseph Bezzina tomorrow at 2 p.m. while Turkish violinist Melykcan Zaman will be giving a recital at the Gozo Ministry on Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Mark Gauci (althom) and Roderick Bugeja (eupho- nium/trombone) will be giving a brass recital at the Gozo Law Courts on Wednesday at 8 p.m., followed by a Jazz Night by Dominic Galea's Heritage at XS Club in Victoria on Thursday from 8.30 p.m. onwards.

A Gozitan Night with traditional food and wine, featuring local folk groups and singers will be held at the Leone Band Club foyer, on Friday at 7.30 p.m.

The festival will end with a concert, featuring music from the Gozo Cathedral Archives, with the participation of soloists and a choir and orchestra at the Gozo Cathedral, on Saturday from 8 p.m.

Mr Theuma praised the Leone Band Club for organising a festival of such high quality.

"Bank of Valletta is delighted to be associated with this cultural festival which should help to increase the cultural attraction of Gozo," he said. "Our support is in line with our role as a leading patron of arts and culture within the communities in which we operate," he added.

The Gozo Cathedral will also be hosting a sacred vestments exhibition and an archaeological exhibition this week.
