Pupils from the Cooper Perry Primary School in Staffordshire, UK, were on an educational visit in Malta, as part of a twinning programme with San Anton School.

During their stay, the 21 pupils, aged between 10 and 11, visited the school in L-Imselliet and St James Cavalier, toured Gozo and spent time with the families of San Anton pupils.

"The children are having a great time," said Cooper Perry School headmaster Steve Hall. "We have been made most welcome by everyone at San Anton School. The children are looking forward to spending the day with Maltese families today."

The Cooper Perry pupils will leave on Tuesday.

The first group of San Anton Grade 7 pupils aged 10-11, visited Cooper Perry last June. They were exposed to different educational experiences, including working as staff in a Victorian kitchen in Lord Lichfield's Manor House. Another visit, for at least 20 Grade 7 San Anton pupils, is planned for next June. They will stay at the Wedgewood Memorial College, a manor house which caters for study visits.

The twinning programme is co-ordinated by Isabelle Depasquale, a Grade 7 teacher at San Anton who accompanies the students on the UK visit, together with other members of the teaching staff.
