Drivers charged with injuring couple

A bus driver and a motorist were yesterday charged with injuring a couple who were on the bus when then the two vehicles collided in Floriana on Thursday.

The accident allegedly happened when a bus driven by Renne Brincat, 20, of Zabbar collided with a car driven by Charlo Compton, 30, of Zejtun at about noon. The two men pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring Janet Saunders and slightly injuring Robert Saunders through their negligence and driving dangerously.

Police Inspector Josric Mifsud prosecuted.

Dr Philip Galea Farrugia represented Brincat and Dr Robert Abela appeared for Compton.
