Bus lane mess
When are the transport authorities going to realise what a mess they are causing during rush hours with the introduction of the bus lane in Marsa? I have never experienced before such great traffic jams that are reaching beyond Paola and Santa Lucija.
When are the transport authorities going to realise what a mess they are causing during rush hours with the introduction of the bus lane in Marsa? I have never experienced before such great traffic jams that are reaching beyond Paola and Santa Lucija. I am sure that the route buses themselves are being affected. It is now taking longer to reach Valletta from the south of Malta during rush hours and this surely defeats the purpose of such bus lanes.
Reducing a four-lane road into three lanes is neither going to improve the public transport nor will it encourage the public to use the bus service. It just causes havoc and despair to thousands who need to pass daily through the only road that joins the south to the rest of the island. And people are arriving late for work to the detriment of employers.
Public transport may only be improved if we start thinking long term of a network based on a new modern infrastructure such as a metro or a bridge rail. There were entrepreneurs who had devolved the idea in the past. Why are these not encouraged? And I am also sure that the EU would give financial assistance to such a project as improvement in transport is a priority for the Union.
