Fishing vessels' transfer

The transfer of fishing vessels has been temporarily halted with immediate effect until the end of February next year in view of new regulations issued in Legal Notive 407 of 2004 and published on September 14.

The regulations provide for changes in the registration of the vessels, licence tariffs and the transfer procedures among other changes.

The Department of Information said that in the meantime vessel owners would be individually informed about the registration number, the size of the numbers to be painted or fixed on the vessel and other matters related to fishing.
