Malta had Europe's second highest market share of Chevrolet in summer, according to the latest statistics issued by the car maker's European division.
Alfred Suter, manager for independent importers for Chevrolet, European Division, recently visited Mira Motor Sales Ltd, the local agents, to personally congratulate them on this achievement.
Statistics issued by the Licensing and Traffic Directorate of the Malta Transport Authority showed that Chevrolet's market share in June stood at just over five per cent of the total passenger vehicles market.
Mira Motors said this was a remarkable achievement for a company that has only been present on the local market since last December.
This was in line with Chevrolet's global growth strategy for the new range of small, compact and midsize vehicles throughout Europe, beginning next January.
Chevrolet, whose offerings include the new Matiz, Kalos, Lacetti and Nubira, is positioned as an affordable entry-level brand for developed markets, and a volume mainstream brand for emerging markets.
The Chevrolet range can be seen at the Mira Motor Sales showroom on the Mriehel By-Pass in Mriehel.
