Young woman in danger of dying after accident

A 21-year-old woman is in danger of dying after she was involved in a traffic accident in Luqa early yesterday morning.

The police said preliminary investigations showed that the young woman lost control of the Isuzu Gemini she was driving, went over the centre strip and crashed into a tree. The accident happened in Garibaldi Street at 7.15 a.m.

Members of the Civil Protection Department were called to the scene and an ambulance rushed the woman to hospital where she was certified to be in danger of dying.

Duty magistrate Dennis Montebello was informed of the accident and appointed experts to help him draw up a report. Investigations are being conducted by the Paola police.

No one was injured in an accident in Dun Karm Psaila Street in Msida early yesterday morning. Preliminary investigations showed that a 21-year-old Mosta man lost control of his Volkswagen Golf and crashed into a pole. As a result a Fiat Stilo, a Toyota Hi Ace and a Volkswagen Polo were involved in an accident as they tried to avoid crashing into the Golf.

The Msida police are investigating.
