A new CD called Mal-Kant tal-Bahar, with lyrics by Joe Friggieri and music by Charles Camilleri features internationally acclaimed opera singer Sophia Grech.
Carrying seven songs and five dances, together with an instrumental piece for violin, cello and piano called Love's Sorrow, the CD will be officially launched during a live performance of the songs at St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity in Valletta, on Thursday week.
Ms Grech is an acclaimed mezzo soprano with a powerful singing voice. She has been to Malta several times.
She trained for four years at the Royal College of Music in London and can sing in six languages, including French, German, Italian, Spanish and Maltese.
She has given opera performances, recitals and master classes in the UK, Spain, Portugal, Yugoslavia, the Czech Republic, Singapore, China, Canada and in the US.
The CD recording was made by David Vella at Temple Studios.
