The Gordon Asciak Tennis School, based at the Marsa Sports Club, recently organised another venture to Palermo, giving some of the least experienced players the opportunity of playing abroad. The matches were played at Tennis Club Palermo 2.

The players making the trip were Matthew Asciak, Clayton Zammit, Denzil Agius, J.J. Verelst, Jean Paul Schembri, Matthew Booker, Andrew Ellul, Melik Atwair, John Calleja (boys) and Stephanie Sullivan, Angela Bartolo and Brenda Galea (girls). Asciak, Sullivan and Zammit, all national squad members, had good performances and so did 10-year-old Galea who left a good impression after winning all her matches. The Tennis Club Palermo 2 will be making a return visit to Malta at the end of October. The Gordon Asciak Tennis School is assisted by Wilson, Opel, Vodafone, Strand Palace Agencies, Red October Co Ltd, MCE and Pharmacos.
