Maltese-Swiss gathering

The 14th Maltese-Swiss gathering was held at the Schuetzenhuette in Eglisau, Switzerland on September 12.

This year's event was another success with over 80 persons attending the barbecue and tombola afternoon.

The aim of the annual event, organised this year by Tonio Vella with the help of various other volunteers and partly sponsored by Air Malta, is to create an occasion for Maltese living in Switzerland as well as Swiss persons holding special ties with Malta to get together. It also gives those present an opportunity to make new acquaintances, renew existing ones and exchange experiences.

Attending this year's event was the newly appointed Maltese Honorary Consul for the German-speaking part of Switzerland, Heinz Lischer and the president of the Swiss-Maltese Chamber of Commerce, Kurt Kamber.

During a raffle draw organised at the end of the event two participants won a return ticket to Malta offered by Air Malta.
