Mixed local and foreign flavour at property fair

A Residential and Investment Properties Fair scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Villa Madama, Balzan, is set to offer a mixed approach guide to opportunities in Malta as well as in the British Isles.

The fair is being organised by one of the younger estate agencies on the island, Zone Real Estate, which is collaborating with Dandara & Heritage Homes Ltd, of the UK.

The UK developer is active in the investment property market in Jersey, the Isle of Man and Manchester and will be adding developments in Scotland to its portfolio.

With returns on bonds very low in the main markets, and shares tending to peak in the latest cycle, investment in property is seen as an alternative to consider.

Prices of residential houses in the core cities of the British Isles have also peaked. Investors who consider new developments for rental return and capital appreciation, however, tend to look long term, gauging opportunities on downswings to be well placed for recoveries.

Representatives of Dandara & Heritage Homes are expected to emphasise this aspect of investment property.

On its part, Zone Real Estate has been adopting a strategy that differentiates it from agencies that emphasise high-value properties for high-networth clients. Zone targets first-time buyers, while including a range of higher value properties for middle and upper income and networth seekers.

HSBC (Malta) and notaries public Abela & Abela will be represented at the fair to deal with any enquiries that fall within their area of expertise.
