Two basic courses on navigational security were held from September 25 and October 1 for personnel from the Armed Forces of Malta's maritime squadron.

The courses were co-ordinated by an officer of the Italian Guardia Costiera, serving in Genoa.

The course focused on controlling ships in national and international waters, as well as the certification of merchant vessels, among others, in accordance with the most recent international regulations.
