Photographer Kurt Arrigo's images on Malta have featured in - and even adorned the cover of - the American lifestyle and travel magazine, Lexus, which enjoys widespread exposure.
The quarterly magazine is created by the high-profile car company, Lexus, and recommends destinations, providing detailed information on hotels and airlines. About one million copies are printed and distributed in the US and Europe to car owners and subscribers.
Mr Arrigo's photographs complement an in-depth article, tracing the travels of Odysseus, who, according to Greek mythology, spent seven years in Gozo.
Malta, therefore, has a strong presence in the article, which also features Greece, Italy and Sicily.
Mr Arrigo also travelled to and photographed Italy and Sicily on Odysseus's trail, accompanied by the feature's author and a professor.
He was assigned to the job by an agency that discovered him through his website.
The feature is spread over six pages, illustrated by four photographs of Gozo, including the Azure Window, fishing boats and the salt pans, which landed on the front cover. They convey an "abstract", almost "eerie" feeling - "a journey back to the past".
Mr Arrigo has worked on several assignments, promoting tourism in Malta.
He is forever snapping shots of the islands and sending them overseas.
