Useless zebra crossings

I live in Birzebbuga Road, Birzebbuga. As anyone familiar with the locality knows, it is an extremely busy road. Which is why the authorities some years ago decided to introduce three extra zebra crossings. Their only use, unfortunately, is to occupy six parking spaces each because occasions when motorists stop to let pedestrians cross are as rare as seeing pigs fly.

The majority of cars pass at a greater speed than necessary, therefore the roundabout at the end of our road is a frequent accident site. Speedy cars are also a problem for pedestrians in wet days because some cars do not decelerate, thus giving them unnecessary showers.

I am suggesting that the authorities should at least install two sleeping policemen instead of the useless zebra crossings. And please do repair the pavements in the same road because they are a total disgrace, especially for the elderly, children and people with special needs.
