British Airways franchise carrier GB Airways will, as from May, be operating three weekly flights to Manchester, in addition to its London service.

The new service, operated by Airbus A320 aircraft based at Manchester airport, starts on May 16.

John Patterson, managing director GB Airways, said the flights to London were very popular and the company expected the new flights to Manchester to be just as popular. "Furthermore, for the first time, customers in the north of England have a true alternative scheduled service to Malta."
