Car wash marathon in aid of children's fund
A 50-hour car wash marathon will be held over the weekend at the Ta' Xbiex Seafront, next to the Black Pearl, to raise money for the Appogg children's fund.
The marathon will start at 6 p.m. tomorrow and end on Sunday.
Employees of Appogg have set up the children's fund to help children living in poverty and disadvantaged situations. The fund is intentioned to assist children directly in meeting their basic or special demands.
"Situations arise where these children need material support immediately and where carers are unable to provide this support. This is particularly so in situations where children require food, clothing, medication, uniforms, books, payment for a school outing or project, sportswear, visits to a medical consultant or any specialised treatment," a spokesman for Appogg said.
The public is invited to support the marathon in a bid to raise more money for the fund.
Other fundraising initiatives took place since the fund was set up earlier this year. These included the baking of figolli at Easter time, a hairdressing marathon, a football tournament and a fundraising diving experience for Appogg staff and their friends.
