Heroin possession charge

A Birkirkara man was yesterday charged with the possession of heroin with the intent to sell it within 100 metres from a school or youth centre.

Jesmond Bugeja, 34, pleaded not guilty to the possession of the drug on September 10.

He was granted bail on condition he does not leave his home, bound by a Lm1,000 deposit and a personal guarantee of Lm3,000.

Police Inspector Pierre Grech prosecuted.

Dr Chris Cardona appeared for Bugeja.
