More than 218,000 copies of the Yellow Pages will be delivered to households and offices between Thursday and October 2.
At the same time the new edition is being delivered, outdated copies will also be picked up as part of the Yellow Pages' annual recovery programme. Last year, about 80,000 outdated copies were reclaimed.
The 2004/2005 edition of Yellow Pages includes innovations and improvements over the past editions, with the inclusion of postcodes and comprehensive maps of the islands.
Households will be pre-notified of the delivery date and asked to leave their old copies near their letterboxes, on the doorstep or in the hallway of apartments on the date of delivery. The recovery of the outdated Yellow Pages is free of charge.
Yellow Pages Malta Ltd's managing director Niki Soler expressed satisfaction at the recovery programme and thanked the public and local councils for their collaboration.
Mr Soler said "every little counts" and the company encouraged people who did not previously participate in the recovery programme to do so. "Every single book recovered helps towards protecting our environment," he said.
The Yellow Pages include more than 40,000 business listings.
