Two Rabat teenaged boys yesterday pleaded guilty to stealing three cars and eight bags since the beginning of August.

Melvin Mifsud, 18, and a 15-year-old also admitted to trying to steal another two cars and two bags and slightly injuring two women whose bags they tried to steal between August 3 and September 18.

The 15-year-old was also charged with relapsing.

Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani Grima warned the teenagers about the consequences of their way of life and put off the case for judgment.

The 15-year-old was denied bail and Mifsud was granted bail on condition he does not leave his parents' house without permission from the courts.

Police Inspector Silvio Valletta prosecuted.

Dr Ian Farrugia and Dr Richard Sladden appeared for the defendants.
