Jennifer Ebejer, Sea Malta assistant manager of the trade lane unit, has qualified as a chartered shipbroker from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, the UK-based maritime training organisation.

The qualification entails the successful completion of a two-year course followed by a number of examinations, namely law of carriage of goods by sea, maritime economics and port agency and logistics among others.

The first Maltese chartered members of the institute were sponsored by Sea Malta in 1983 and today some of these institute members have joined private and public organisations within the shipping and freight forwarding sectors.
