Obituary

FAVA. On September 16, at St Luke's Hospital, VICTOR, aged 63, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carmen, his children Josephine, Jeanette and her husband Aldo, Pauline and her husband Peter, Mario and his wife Charmaine, his grandchildren Elaine, Ryan, Lemise, Elena, Nicole, Daniel and Federica, his brothers, sisters and their families, other relatives and his many friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 8 a.m. for Kalkara parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at St Lawrence Cemetery, Vittoriosa.
Grateful thanks to the staff at the ITU and the relatives and friends who were of support. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

ZRINZO. On September 16, EDWIN, of St Julian's, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by his family. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Antoinette née Zarb, his daughter Maryanne and her husband Jonathan Walden, his sons Patrick and his wife Anna Maria, and Andrew and his wife Lisa, his grandchildren Rachel, Benjamin, Nadine, Stephen, Timothy and Susy, his sister Lilian and her husband Tottie Torpiano, his brother Albert and his wife Winny, in-laws, relatives and many friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 7.45 a.m. for St Julian's parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.15 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

CACCIOTTOLO - DANNY. Fondest and unfading memories of a very special husband, father and grandfather on the fifth anniversary of his passing away. So sadly missed by his family. Today's 6.30 p.m. Mass at St Gaetan parish church, Hamrun, will be offered for the repose of his soul.

CATANIA - AGATHA, Rabat, Malta. Today the 20th anniversary of her passing away. Fondly remembered by her sisters Annie and Sr Mary Possidia, her nieces and nephews and their respective families. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CILIA - EDGAR. Treasured and unfading memories of a beloved father, today his anniversary. Carmen and Josephine.

Vittoriosa exhibition

Artist John Tanti and musician James Vassallo will be mounting a musically-enlivened exhibition at the Couvre Porte, Vittoriosa from October 1 - 23. Entrance is free and opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 3.30 - 8 p.m. For enquiries call 2146 4214.

'A' Level Religion

The Catholic Institute will be holding a course in advanced level religion leading up to the June 2005 exams. Lectures start on October 4 and are held from 5.30 - 7.30 p.m. Applications may be obtained from the Catholic Institute, in Floriana after Monday.

Two lanes closed

Due to the positioning of a crane, two lanes off the Addolorata Cemetery traffic lights, in the direction of Valletta, will be closed to traffic today and tomorrow between 4 a.m. - 10 a.m. Public transport will not be affected. The traffic flow will proceed along one lane.

St Pio feast

The liturgical feast of St Pio of Pietrelcina will be celebrated on Thursday at Christ the King parish church, Paola, commencing at 5.30 p.m. There will be holy rosary and Mass said by Fr Joe Alessandro. Transport is provided. For enquiries call 2123 1446.

Kullilla art

Australian indigenous artist and performer Michael Connolly, from Thargomindah, in Queensland will be weaving a dreamtime spell at St James Centre for Creativity between today and Wednesday with his Kullilla art collection.

On Monday evening at 8 he will conduct a walkabout to explain the dreamtime stories depicted in his artwork and demonstrate his skills with the oldest musical instrument known to man - the didgeridoo.

Seminar for priests

The Archbishop's Curia will be holding three one-day seminars on the homily for priests. The main speaker is Rev. Enrico Dal Covolo. On Monday a group will meet at the Animation and Communication Centre, Ta' Paris, Birkirkara; on Tuesday at The Seminary, Tal-Virtú and on Wednesday at De La Salle College, Cottonera. Reunion

A group of electrical apprentices who had joined the Drydocks in 1954 will be holding a reunion on Monday on the occasion of their 50th anniversary. The event will commence with Holy Mass at St Francis church, Valletta at 10 a.m. For more information call Saviour Attard on 2143 2370.

U3E Mass

Traffic diversion

The Malta Transport Authority said that due to races, the Salina coast road will be closed to traffic tomorrow from 7 a.m. - 8.30 a.m. and on October 3 from 7 a.m. - 10.30 a.m. Traffic coming from Kennedy Grove via Valletta will be diverted to T'Alla w Ommu and traffic from the coast road via St Paul's Bay will be diverted to Maghtab. The road will remain open for route buses, coaches and emergency vehicles.
