Foreign Affairs Minister Michael Frendo confirmed the pressing problem of obtaining visas to travel to Libya, according to Labour foreign affairs spokesman Leo Brincat.
This was a clear contradiction to what was said some months ago by his predecessor John Dalli, who claimed the problem of visas had been resolved, Mr Brincat said.
It was interesting to note, he said, that Dr Frendo had never denied the government's diplomatic slip when it withdrew the appointment of Libya's ambassador designate to Libya from a Maltese diplomat, despite the fact that the Libyan government had already been informed of the proposed appointment.
