A 27-year-old man yesterday admitted to causing the death of a 77-year-old woman when he ran her over with his motorcycle in Tower Road, Sliema, three years ago.

Charlot Montebello, of Swieqi, who was 23 at the time of the accident, yesterday admitted causing the death of Margaret Xuereb of Msida through his negligence on August 24, 2001.

He also admitted to speeding, riding dangerously and recklessly and without an insurance cover.

Magistrate Saviour Demicoli put the case off to Wednesday for judgment.

Dr José Herrera appeared for Montebello.
