The council of the Malta Qualified Persons Association met Competitiveness and Communications Minister Censu Galea to establish the credentials of the association as the main spokesman of qualified persons in the pharmaceutical industry.

A number of issues having an impact on the professional role of qualified persons in their activities in the pharmaceutical industry were discussed. These included the industry's relations with regulatory authorities and other government departments as well as the need for adequately trained and skilled staff for the rapidly expanding pharmaceutical industry in Malta.

The association said the minister highlighted the need for an effort to work towards objectives of the highest standards within set timeframes in order for the country to operate to its maximum potential within the European Union.
