A 21-year-old man from Birkirkara is expected to be charged with drug offences after the police found him in possession of 15 grammes of heroin on Monday evening.

The man was apprehended at Lija after the police received information that he had been trafficking drugs in the area and at other localities, the police said.

Drugs, which the police suspect were ready to be trafficked, were also found at his residence.

Magistrate Antonio Mizzi has appointed a team of court experts to help him in an inquiry.

The police Drug Squad is investigating.
