A Zejtun man has been charged with assaulting and slightly injuring two local wardens on Thursday.

John Farrugia, 33, pleaded not guilty to assaulting and injuring wardens Clayton Frendo and Mariella Micallef as well as Alexander Ebeyer in St Paul's Bay and breaching the peace.

He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm500.

Police Inspector Joseph Mercieca prosecuted.

Dr Michael Schiriha appeared for Farrugia.
