I had grown used to people writing to The Times complaining that different governments take easy political decisions (which are not controversial) and avoid taking the difficult commercial decisions (which are controversial).
The government has taken a sound commercial decision regarding Malta House in Brussels, not taking into account the expected criticism. Time will tell who is right.
What do these people want? A government that takes the easy way out or a government that takes the necessary decision at the right time, no matter what the political cost?
