The letter by Mr Anthony Farrugia (The Sunday Times, August 15) reminded me of an unsettled issue about the Plaza Christmas competition. I too was selected to participate in the final competition stage and what bothered me was that we had to submit the entry on a different sheet of paper from the one containing our particulars. This instilled in me the thought of "what if a mix-up in the entries occurs?"
To my amazement, on July 9, I received two similar letters as that of Mr Farrugia, dated July 2 - one addressed to me and another to a certain Ms Bondin, who is totally unknown to me. The following Monday I sent an e-mail to the director and although I received an automated receipt from their mail server, I never received an answer to my complaint.
In my e-mail I expressed serious doubts on the identity of the winners of the competition as I had physical evidence that some mix-up did indeed occur. I asked why had I received two letters with the same address but addressed to two different persons. I also asked what assurance could I be given that there was no mix-up in the entries and one of the winning entries was not mine.
Not having received an answer from Plaza Centres plc, I could not in any way inform or contact Ms Bondin that her unfortunate letter was sent to me instead. I am still waiting for their reply and would like to know to whom the prizes were awarded and whether it is possible to see the winning entries.
