Obituary

GRECH. On August 27, VINCENT (Censu taz-Zebgha), of Gzira, aged 76, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Helen, his children M'Anne, David and his wife Pauline and Lorraine, grandchildren, his brothers and sister, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 8 a.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Gzira, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

PORTANIER. On August 27, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, JOHN, aged 62. He leaves to mourn his loss Rose née Cassar and his son Jean, his sister and her husband Madeleine and Charles Cowlrich, nephews and nieces, Eleana and Christopher, cousins, relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital on Monday, August 30 at 8 a.m. for the Sta Venera new parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family vault, at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to the Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated.

African culture

Afro Promotions, the agency promoting African arts and culture, is opening the New Breed Club in Pioneer Road, Bugibba this evening.

For the occasion the agency has prepared a programme of music and culture which starts at 10 p.m. It will feature J Joy and Friends and DJ Kay as well as Afro entertainment.

Bonus investment

Traffic in Sliema

The traffic in the following Sliema streets will be suspended or deviated on the days and times indicated due to the titular feast of St Gregory celebrated on September 5.

Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight: Tower Road from Dingli Street to Old College Street.

Parking of vehicles throughout the procession route - Isouard Street, Norfolk Street, Dingli Street, Tower Rd, St. Francis Street, Depiro Street, Guze Cardona Street, Blanche Street and Isouard Street - is prohibited on September 5 from 3 p.m. onwards.

Philately Group

The Philately Group of Zejtun will meet at the local council on Tuesday at 7p.m. Anyone interested is invited to attend.

Poetry

There will be poetry reading by the group Ilhna Poezija in the San Girgor Gardens, Zejtun on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
