Driver injured in accident

A 32-year-old Valletta man was seriously injured when the car he was driving crashed into a pole in Triq l-Assedju l-Kbir, Floriana yesterday at about 6.45 a.m.

The police said his injuries were not life threatening. The accident happened when the man lost control of his Alfa Romeo 33, crossed over to the other lane and crashed against a pole. At the time he was driving in the direction of Floriana.

Personnel from the Civil Protection Department were called to the accident spot to release the driver who was trapped inside the extensively damaged car.
