Graham Bridge, director of the Quality Care Pharmacy Project, and Tim Logan, state vice-president of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, last week paid a visit to the Pharmacy Department of the University.

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia represents pharmacist owners of community pharmacies and is reviewing their current quality care programme.

The Guild representatives visited the Department of Pharmacy to discuss the quality care system, validation of community pharmacy instruments developed by Dr Lilian Azzopardi at the Department of Pharmacy.

They also visited a number of community pharmacies and discussed community pharmacy in Malta. The visit was intended to look into the features of Malta's developed system which could be adopted in the system run by the Pharmacy Guild of Australia.

Dr Azzopardi is a leading figure internationally in the development of quality care systems in Pharmacy. Her work will again be presented at the community pharmacy section meeting at the International Pharmacy Congress to be held in New Orleans next month.
