First of all I would like to thank you for the excellent work you do and I really look forward to reading your column every Sunday. I find it very interesting and learn something new every time.
I am hereby enclosing a copy of a letter I sent to the Wireless Telegraphy Department (WTD) on June 27 regarding my refusal to pay the satellite dish tax. In response, I received an acknowledgement from them on July 5.
However, I made myself crystal clear to the WTD. To date, I have not received any reply from them. I am still waiting for a written reply from them to see how it would compare with their attitude when I called on them before writing to them. Indeed, the person at the reception told me very bluntly, "You have to pay it, or bring the receiver here to be sealed".
I asked a lady who worked there if I could speak to somebody in authority and she replied that she was on the phone. I waited for over half an hour and, every time I asked what was happening, I got the same reply. Eventually I realised I was wasting my time and left. I encourage you to keep the good work and wish you good health. (Anthony Borg)
We have been at it for 12 weeks so far. We must continue until whoever is empowered to make a positive decision on this issue makes the appropriate 'correct' legal decision. Therefore I ask you, dear readers to continue sending your letters so that we can keep this campaign alive accordingly.
