Peter O'Keefe, president of the International Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) has awarded a commemorative prize to Anthony Caruana in recognition of the excellent mark achieved in his dissertation.
Mr Caruana works with the Malta Maritime Authority and his dissertation dealt with private involvement and the protection of public interest in the port of Valletta, Malta's traditional cargo and passenger port.
CILT (Malta) joined Mr O'Keefe, who recently visited Malta, in congratulating Mr Caruana. His success may serve to encourage more current and prospective CILT Malta members to read for the CILT Masters programme, which the Malta section intends to officially launch in October, during its annual conference.
Charles Schembri, chairman of CILT Malta said the launching of the Masters programme was another indication of the Malta section's commitment to education and development. Also present for the award was Dr Marc Bonello, chairman of the Malta Maritime Authority.
The membership of CILT Malta consists of professionals employed in the diverse transport sectors in Malta. Its membership-base includes individuals coming from all strata of the transport and logistics chain.
