Reference is made to the letter (August 10) regarding trenching works in Triq il-Buttuniera, Marsascala.

The trenching works that were carried out in Marsascala on behalf of Enemalta form part of a large development project. A total of 3.2 kms of high voltage cables have been installed to reinforce the electricity supply to the area. The reason the road was not resurfaced immediately was because jointing works were required to be carried out on the cables that were laid in the trench.

Regarding the damage to the correspondent's water supply, Enemalta would like to apologise for any inconvenience.

However, one must add that repairs were carried out within minutes.

Incidentally works were completed with the final blacktop re-surfacing finalised by August 10, the same day the letter in The Times was published.
