On behalf of the Committee of the Centenary feast of Sannat I would like to congratulate the people of Sannat for the way the commemoration of the 1,700th anniversary of the martyrdom of St Margaret was held.
It wasn't an easy task from the organising part or financial, but with the help of a lot of people, we succeeded in bringing among us the relic of the head of St Margaret from Montefiascone in Italy.
For many of those present at Mgarr harbour for the arrival of the relic, this was the most exciting moment of the entire feast.
But the thing that impressed most was the presence of people during all the religious ceremonies that were held in the church during the feast. This clearly showed that for us the feast is not only a moment of joy but also an opportunity to move closer to Jesus. Therefore we can say that the people of Sannat applied perfectly the motto chosen for this centenary feast, which was "Towards Jesus in the steps of St Margaret".
I would like to thank all those who contributed, either physically or financially, for the feast to be the success it was.
But in the name of all the people of Sannat I would like also to thank the man without whose will this feast could not have happened. This is of course our archpriest, Father Tarcisio Camilleri.
