PM to discuss financial targets with chairmen

Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi is today set to meet chairmen and CEOs of corporations and agencies where the government has a majority shareholding.

The meeting is expected to focus on the government's financial targets and increased accountability in these entities.

The Prime Minister is expected to list the government's priorities regarding higher efficiency, control of the financial deficit and reduction in bureaucracy.

He is also expected to emphasise that government-appointed chairmen should strive to reach such goals.
