Paramedics and health inspectors in the Ministry of Health began limited industrial action on Monday over claims that the government has not submitted credible counter proposals on a sectoral agreement.

The action is being taken on a directive issued by the health services section of the Union Haddiema Maghqudin.

The UHM said the majority of the section members were taking part in the action, by refusing to make use of telephones and other means of communication.

The union warned that if the government insisted on denying these employees their requests, it would have no choice other than to propose further industrial action.
