A fault occurred in the distribution system supplying electricity to the St Julians area at 4.40 a.m. yesterday, causing the electricity service to be interrupted in parts of St Julians, Ta' Giorni, and Sliema.

Enemalta said in a statement that the electricity service in parts of Sliema was restored by 7.27 a.m. and in parts of St Julian's by 7.59 a.m. The electricity service in the remaining areas that were affected by the interruption was brought back to normal by 9.35 a.m., Enemalta said.

Investigations are still being carried out into the cause of the fault.
