The Development Control Commission of the Malta Environment and Planning Authority yesterday refused an application for the development of a regional mail room for Maltapost in St Anthony Street, Sliema.

The development was objected to by the Sliema local council as well as many residents, who argued that the area was a residential one and there was already a major parking problem which such a development would make worse.
