The Salesian Pastoral Youth Service (SPYS) has for the fifth consecutive year taken part in a large European Salesian youth encounter.

After taking part in what was called Eurotreff from 1999 to 2003 in Vienna, during the last week of last month, SPYS headed for Groot-Bijgaarden in Belgium to take part in Eurizon 2004 - a gathering of 200 participants from 12 European countries.

Eurizon 2004 was a European youth encounter with Don Bosco's style at the back of the organisers' minds. It welcomed all European youngsters over 17 years of age who have an open mind to other cultures and ideas. Youths and youth leaders alike were given the opportunity to meet other youngsters, reflect upon their lives, and amuse themselves together with 200 others in sports, games, creative activities, and music.

The theme of the Eurizon week was "Choose for life: the mysterious (daily) life". Every day had its own different theme.
